WHAT? There's a right and a wrong way to burn a candle?!
There sure is. in fact, properly caring for your candle will prolong it's burn-life, keep the product cleaner and keep you satisfied as a customer. Below are 3 tips you can use to ensure you are taking the right steps for candle-care.

1. ALWAYS trim your wick: this is a key component in how your candle will burn over time. It is important to make sure you're trimming the candle wick to about 1/4 inches long, after every. single. burn.
2. Let the wax melt completely across the candle vessel: Candle wax has a memory in the pattern it burns, so it is crucial, especially during the initial burn, to let the wax melt completely across the diameter of the vessel (this should take 3-4 hours to achieve). Not letting it melt could lead to tunneling, which will not only give your candle an undesirable look but waste lots of good wax that is left untouched on the sides of the vessel.
3. Extinguish your flame with the lid: using your candle's lid to put out the flame will provide the cleanest burn, as it prevents excess smoke and soot by cutting off the oxygen supply.
